Get Moving with Funding for Innovative Projects
Grant Overview
Looking to inspire healthier, more active communities? The Active Australia Innovation Challenge, funded by the Australian Government and delivered by the Heart Foundation, is offering grants of up to $30,000 for innovative projects that promote physical activity in schools, universities, and local communities.
This challenge aims to raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity and support creative solutions that get more people moving—particularly those at risk of chronic disease or living in areas with high levels of physical inactivity, such as rural and remote communities.
Applications for Round 4 are open from 3 February 2025 to 3 March 2025.
Who Can Apply?
A wide range of organisations and groups are eligible, including:
Community groups
Schools (primary and secondary)
Tertiary institutions (universities, TAFEs, colleges)
Councils
Health organisations

Businesses
Individuals
You don’t need DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status to apply, and no co-contribution is required.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
This grant provides the chance to implement and showcase your innovative project to promote physical activity, with finalists presenting their proposals to a national panel of experts. Projects should focus on specific target audiences, measurable outcomes, and future goals.
