Empowering Local Change: Whitehorse Community Grants – Funding from $400 to $10,000, Open for Applications in VIC Until 6 Apr 2025

The Whitehorse Community Grants Program provides financial assistance to not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, community groups, and schools to support initiatives that enhance wellbeing, inclusivity, sustainability, and social connection within the Whitehorse community. This grant is designed to support projects ranging from small equipment purchases and placemaking activations to larger community development projects, ensuring meaningful local impact ​2025 Community Grants.


What It Funds

  • Small equipment purchases (up to $1,000)

  • Placemaking activations (up to $1,000)

  • Senior participation activities (up to $1,000)

  • New community initiatives (up to $3,000)

  • Arts and cultural projects (up to $3,000)

  • Diversity and inclusion programs (up to $3,000)

  • Environmental sustainability initiatives (up to $3,000)

  • Health and wellbeing programs (up to $3,000)

  • Positive ageing programs (up to $3,000)

  • Artist-in-school projects (subject to application and available budget)

  • Major community projects (up to $10,000)


Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, community groups, and schools located in or delivering services within Whitehorse City Council.


Applicants must:

  • Hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million

  • Provide financial records demonstrating viability and need

  • Ensure that the funded activities exclusively benefit Whitehorse residents

  • Submit their application via SmartyGrants by the deadline and comply with acquittal and reporting requirements
